VCFC Battles for Hard Fought 0-0 Draw at Home

We took on Portland Timbers 2 Sunday evening in front of an incredible crowd at William Rolland Stadium.

Strong individual performances from Sean Karani and Isaiah Parente caused problems for the Timbers backline. Jonathan Pérez also logged some crucial minutes after being sidelined for a month with an injury.

There was nothing to separate the two sides after 90 minutes and our unbeaten streak in penalties came to a close. We had to settle for a point but managed to narrow the gap on first and second place St. Louis City 2 and North Texas as both teams lost Sunday afternoon.

About The Town FC

The Town FC currently sits in 8th place in the Western Conference with six wins, six draws, and five losses. They have 27 points in the season in the MLS Next Pro standings.

TTFC has been in fine form in the month of July, defeating Colorado Rapids 2, Sporting KC II, and drawing Real Monarchs. Our previous game with TTFC concluded 3-3 after an exciting 90 minutes of end to end action. This will be our third and final matchup of the season.

The Town FC’s Latest Matchup

The Town FC’s last match was an important draw against Real Monarchs as it kept them undefeated in the month of July. The Town FC struck first after a well constructed set-piece right at the beginning of the second half in the 48th minute. Cano was there to tap in after Donnery headed the ball back across goal from the short corner. Real Monarchs responded in the 72nd minute after a curling effort from Anderson at the top of the box was placed into the top left corner. TTFC claimed the extra point by winning 4-3 in PKs.
