VCFC and Real Monarchs played earlier this season on April 12 at William Rolland Stadium. VCFC emerged victorious at home, beating the Monarchs 2-0. Jose “Pepe”Magaña Jr. scored his first professional goal that game, heading it home from close range off a Vinny Garcia cross. Later on, Julian Placias extended the lead from the penalty spot. Sebastian Conlon notably made a fantastic save off a penalty shot from Lineker Rodrigues to keep a clean sheet.
