VCFC Cruise to Victory at Home to Real Monarchs

As the sun set behind the hills at William Rolland Stadium, Ventura County FC found themselves with a two goal lead inside 30 minutes. Ilijah Paul scored the opener against his parent club and Sean Karani tapped in from close range just 6 minutes later.

In addition to the 3 points, it was a special night to remember for a couple of our players. Tucker Lepley scored his first professional goal after a great debut season for VCFC. Hope Avayevu marked his debut with an assist while Harbor Miller contributed to a brace of assists.

About Houston Dynamo 2

Houston currently sits in 8th place in the Western Conference with eight wins, six draws, and nine losses. They have 32 points on the season.

This will be Houston’s second matchup against VCFC on the season as the first one ended in a draw at William Rolland Stadium in July. Houston Dynamo 2 midfielder Diego Gonzalez leads the league with nine assists, one behind the current all-time league record (10 assists by each Romeo Beckham, Mo Farsi, and Marlon Vargas). Gonzalez has been a key playmaker for Dynamo this season, while also contributing two goals in 1,975 minutes played.

Dynamo 2’s Latest Matchup

Houston closed out August with back-to-back wins against Minnesota United 2 to keep their playoff hopes alive. Gabriel Segal scored a brace for the home side, bringing his tally to 9 goals on the season.
