Bouncing Back

VCFC had to settle for a 1-1 draw and a penalty shootout loss to Austin FC II last Saturday at William Rolland Stadium.

Troy Elgersma scored the lone goal for VCFC. Julian Placias ran through on goal before squaring it to Elgersma who was crashing into the box to tap it home for his second goal of the season. Elgersma’s form earned him a short-term contract with the LA Galaxy for their away match against Columbus Crew on Wednesday, April 22.

Sebastian Conlon saved yet another penalty, making it two straight games with a penalty save in regulation time.

VCFC currently sits at 3rd in the West with 14 points and a record of 3-3-1.

St. Louis City II have yet to lose a game this season. Since their last match with VCFC this season on March 15, they’ve won two in regulation time and won another two on penalties.
