Ventura County FC to Face Tacoma Defiance

Thousand Oaks, California (October 8th, 2024) – Representatives from each of the qualified clubs gathered for the the 2025 MLS Next Pro Playoffs Selection Show Tuesday afternoon. Head coach Matt Taylor was joined by Director of Player Personnel Gordon Kljestan to learn our first round opponent.

How it happened

The top three of the Western Conference standings were able to select who they faced off in the first round.

1. North Texas v 7. Vancouver Whitecaps

2. St. Louis City 2 v 5. LAFC II

3. The Town FC v 8. Houston Dynamo 2

Fourth seed Tacoma Defiance were left with the one team nobody wanted to face, 6th seed Ventura County FC.

The first round matchup is set for October 20th @7pm from Starfire Complex. The match will be live streamed on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
